Chairman and CEO of the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, Terazawa was previously a senior government official who worked with the Japanese prime minister Yoshihiko NODA as the Executive Secretary to deal with the aftermath of the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami through September 2011 to December 2012, and more recently advised the government during the pandemic.
A graduate of the universities of Tokyo and Harvard, he has also taught international negotiations at the Tokyo University of Science.

As an anchor and producer at Reuters, he hosted various TV and video shows ranging from world news to technology, business, and personal investing. Earlier, at CNN, he reported for “The Moneyline Newshour” and anchored several shows, including “Business Asia.”
He also worked in Japan, first as a Tokyo correspondent for Fortune magazine and later as a reporter for a daily business news show at NHK. He co-wrote the book on contemporary Japan titled, Japan: A Living Portrait.
