Reuters Plus wins OMMA Award for best photography

For over 10 years, the OMMA Awards has been honoring the best agencies and advertisers who push the potential for digital advertising. This year, our “In Pursuit of the Shot” campaign for Canon Europe took home the award for best photography.

In 2016, we partnered with Canon to launch a series of images designed to trigger debate, question and change people’s perspectives. It tells the stories of communities in transition –stories of great struggle juxtaposed with moments of great hope, creativity and innovation. 

Reuters supplied every story – ranging from London’s grime scene to Spain’s Pueblos Blancos – to subscribers via our newswire service and published them to our acclaimed Wider Image website. Reuters also worked closely with the client to publish stories on Canon’s website with traffic driven by an advertising campaign on

Pop-up urban art exhibitions brought the photography to life on the streets of key cities from Amsterdam to Stockholm in unique ways that blended into the urban environment. Stories were circulated to a global media network and shared extensively across social media channels. The campaign was showcased with an exhibition evening in London’s Soho where over 130 guests were able to view a selection of the images and get closer to the stories that inspired them.
